This delicious Icelandic dish will be your new winter warmer! Creamy mash with haddock and a béchamel sauce it is similar to a fish pie and tastes fantastic!

Ingredients

haddock fillets4 fillets

frozen diced onions60 g

butter30 g
-
plain flour30 g

milk300 ml

pre made mashed potatoes600 g
Method

- Add a kettle full of boiling water to a saucepan and place on the heat. Once simmering, lower the haddock fillets into the water along with 1 tsp salt and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside, flake the fish.
- Add the butter to a saucepan. Once melted add the diced onion cook until soft. Add the flour, mix well then slowly add the milk whisking until thickened.
- Stir through the fish and mash adding a splash more milk if it is too thick. Season with salt and pepper.

Add to a freeze bag and freeze flat
Defrost and heat through in the microwave until piping hot when needed.
