Haggis stuffed chicken

I would always recommend doubling this recipe, that way you don’t waste 1/2 a haggis. If you stuff 8 chicken breasts, you will have used the whole thing.

Ingredients

  • Haggis (such as McCaskies Butcher's)
    0.5 packets
  • Chicken breast
    4 breasts
  • Bacon
    4 Strips

Method

  1. Simply Butterfly cut the chicken breasts as per the video above.

  2. Divide the half haggis into 4 and stuff the chicken breasts with it.

  3. Wrap each chicken breast in a slice of bacon.

  4. Ready for the Freezer

Wrap all 4 stuffed chicken breasts in silver foil and place in a sealed labelled freezer bag, freeze flat.

  5. Ready to Eat

Simply take out of the freezer and defrost, cook on a tray with the silver foil slightly open for 35-40 minutes, or until your chicken is cooked and piping hot through (depends on the size of your chicken breasts).

This is great served with mashed potato and a whisky sauce!

  1. Hi, do you cook the haggis first if u want to freeze them or do u put the raw haggis in the chicken?

    1. Hi Evelyn. You don’t really cook haggis as such. It comes already prepared.it is only a matter of hearing it up. Being Scottish we eat it often.
