These delicious lamb koftas are the perfect week night meal. Great in pitta bread or flatbreads. Yum!

  • Frozen diced onion
    1 cup (115 g)
  • Frozen chopped ginger
    1 tsp
  • Frozen chopped garlic
    2 tsp
  • Bhuna Spice Pot dried mix
    3 tsp
  • Coriander
    1 handful
  • Minced lamb
    500 g
  • Salt & pepper
    1

Method

  1. Mix the onion, ginger, garlic salt & pepper and coriander or mint together.

  2. Then mix the lamb with the ingredients above and knead thoroughly.

  3. Add the Bhuna mix and knead again.

  4. With wet hand begin to form the balls, making sure they are all similar in size, so that they cook the same.

  5. Ready for the Freezer

    Put your finished raw koftas in a small freezer bag and label.

  6. Ready to Eat

    Defrost, then cook in a frying pan over a medium to high heat, or in the oven at 180°C for 5-7 minutes turning frequently.

  1. Can you make this without the bhuna spice mix? If so would you need to substitute with something else or would it be ok without? Thanks 😊

    1. Yes of course you can, they will still be great. If you can’t get your hands on the spice pots, i would add 1 teaspoon cumin and 1 teaspoon coriander instead. Hope this helps!
