A wonderfully simple mushy pea recipe, better than the chip shop!

  • Frozen peas
    1.5 cups (230 g)
  • Butter
    1 tsp
  • Creme fraiche
    1 tablespoon
  • Lemon (Juiced)
    0.5
  • Salt and pepper
    1

Method

  1. Place the peas in a saucepan and cover with boiling water. Cook the peas for 3 minutes and then drain.

  2. Place the peas in a blender or a mixing bowl (you can use handheld blender). Add in the butter, crème fraiche, lemon juice and optional salt and pepper.

  3. Blend the peas adding a little water if it is too thick.

  4. Pour into a bowl and serve alongside your fish and chips.

  5. Ready to freeze

    Leave the mushy peas cool completely before pouring into a reusable freezer bag and storing flat.

  6. Ready to eat

    Leave the mushy peas to defrost completely before eating either cold or warmed through in the microwave.
